My family has been using aloe vera for various ailments for ages, however, I have never heard of anything related to poison. In fact, aloe vera is an edible plant, you can directly chew the aloe leaves or eat gel if you have constipation or hypertension.

My family too has used all parts. While the gel inside may not be poisonous, some people can develop an upset stomach from ingesting too much. However, aloe is great for a wide variety of ailments.

Aloe vera is generally considered safe when used in recommended doses. However, some parts of the aloe vera plant contain anthraquinones, which can have a strong laxative effect if consumed in large amounts. These anthraquinones can cause diarrhea, abdominal cramps, and dehydration, and can be toxic in large amounts.
