Some farmers might want to avoid every other year. It's because of the cost. Good idea or not, why?

Yes, but wihtout fertilizer it's hard to grow plants since the more nutirents lies in the fertilizer.

Well, it does seem like manure is cheap - at least. That could be the substitute in off-years.

You are correct, but here most of the farmers grow plants in red soil without manure or fertilizers and really they grow beautifully. Most of them uses Cow manure that helps plants to grow quickly and healthy in farms.

Yep, However it is for free, most farmers use their own cows for plughing the field. Some farmers come without manure or fertilizer within the red soil.

If you are skipping fertilizer because of the cost involved, you will also experience a poor harvest. Fertilizers provide nutrients to the plant, thus enabling the plants to produce more.

I wonder if manure is suitable of all type of plants, but most of the time Ive seen in villages they use cow dung cakes in their fields. Government is also offering some percentage of cost subsidy to these farmers.

Skipping is not a solution at all for avoiding cost as anyone want high yield from their plants.
