I was wondering how to grow a banana tree in my backyard and how long does it takes fruiting? Should I go for Hybrid or long type fruits?

Growing bananas is not hard and easier to grow it, but you will get fruits only one time for a plant. I had grown it successfully and getting bananas from time to time. please take a look at my ripen bananas.

Some bananas can be grown through seeds, however, most bananas are grown through seedlings. When you plant seedlings and when it become big, another seedling will appear from the base of the banana plant, you can transplant it elsewhere.

You can water your red banana once in a day since they need more water in order to grow as healthy tree.

What about growing bananas in colder climates? Are there ways to be successful? I live in the Midwest of the USA & it gets below freezing in our winters. However, I love bananas & wish I could have my own surplus I grow.
