Is it possible that too much direct sunlight can cause this? I have plants that have browning tips on their leaves even though I regularly water them. Can this be a probable cause?

One of the main reasons for leaves turning brown is a disease called anthracnose. Leaves can turn brown even when there is fertilizer burn or saline irrigation.

The leaves had became brown because of soil and fertilizer condition. I would suggest replace it with good soil and compost like manure. The other leaves looks good so just give proper food to the Mango plant.

Did you noticed the moisture in the soil or use a sensor to find out.
