Keeping Out Underground Animals from the Garden

Some of them, gophers for instance, need to be kept out in a way that's fairly humane.  I mean, look at scarecrows.  There is a system to keep out crows - where no crows are killed!

I allow the birds and crows to eat in my Garden, but Goats and Buffaloes never allowed them. If you just put some Human face in Garden, then these birds wont come in night or in morning.

Many people use a deeper fence to prevent underground animals from attacking the roots of the plants. Some even try solar repellents.
