Mini Solar Charge Controller
#1
I am looking to use Solar panel for my home in order to save some money from free energy. I was searching from last few days, but still unable to resolve which one shouls I use and why?

Please specify Solar panel too with size as I would buy 10 AMP Solar charge controller because it is cheap.

Does this will automatically connects to battery when their is no sunlight. please clearly guide me as I am interested to use small led lights and a mini fan.

Since you want to run small LED lights and a mini fan, a small 12V solar system is enough.

Because you are buying a 10A charge controller, you should use:

12V 100W solar panel

12V 50Ah or 75Ah battery (deep cycle recommended)

10A PWM charge controller

A 100W panel is perfect because:

10A controller × 12V ≈ 120W max panel size.
So don’t buy more than 120W panel with that controller.

Yes, the system automatically uses the battery at night.
During daytime → panel charges battery.
At night → battery powers your lights and fan.

Just make sure:

All components are 12V

Battery is connected before panel to controller

Use proper wiring thickness

This setup is good for 3–4 LED bulbs and one small DC fan.

For that, you need at least: 12V 60Ah battery (better take 100Ah for safety)

Panel: Minimum 100W panel recommended.
Important:
Cheap 10A PWM controllers are okay for small systems, but MPPT is better (more efficient). If budget is tight, PWM is fine.
And yes — when there is no sunlight, the battery supplies power automatically. That’s how solar systems work.

You can use a 12V 100W solar panel with your 10A charge controller, as it safely supports up to around 120W.
Pair it with a 12V 75Ah–100Ah battery to run small LED lights and a mini fan for a few hours at night.
Yes, the battery will

We’re seeing more green energy coming from wind turbines than from solar panels, since solar panels can get damaged over time. However, wind turbines can be repaired more easily. I’m hoping to install a small wind turbine to generate electricity for my small home.
