  Nature lovers
Posted by: ZandraJoi - 12-19-2022, 08:17 AM - Forum: Gardening - Replies (1)

I love nature. I hate being cooped up indoors. I also unplug often throughout the day & just get outside. We are fortunate though as we live on 10 acres of woods. I can always find something of interest out there be it a creature or plant. I have guidebooks I tend to take with me & like to challenge myself in identifying things.
For those who like gardening, do you also spend time in nature as well? Looking at wildflowers, trees, the various creatures that inhabit your area?

  Nature as therapy
Posted by: ZandraJoi - 12-19-2022, 08:03 AM - Forum: Gardening - No Replies

I'm a housewife so I'm fortunate to be able to get outside often. I'm more outside in the warmer months than colder as I cannot stand the cold. However, we have a dog who loves the cold so I bundle up to take her for her walks on our acreage. I have guides for our homestate of the local flora & fauna. I can get lost in trying to identify creatures.
Do you view gardening, flowers, plants as "Nature Therapy"? Does it help your mood & reduce your stress levels?

  Community Garden
Posted by: ZandraJoi - 12-19-2022, 07:59 AM - Forum: Gardening - Replies (5)

Have any of you participated in a Community Garden? Do you have one you volunteer at? If so, what is it for? What do you plant? How big is it? Feel free to share as many details & even pictures if you want.
We live rural but nobody has a Community Garden around here. You mostly see them in cities or at least suburbs.
If you don't volunteer, have you considered encouraging other members of your community to start one?
