Who likes to grow basil? What do you use it for? We’ve bought some organic basil we’ve grown, however, we used too much of it for cooking so the plant wilted.

I grow basil in a pot container outside starting around May and then it's good through the end of August. Once the cold weather sets in for the evenings, it doesn't seem to thrive much anymore in September. I used to take snippings and then would dry them out, but they're just not as good as the fresh leaves are. Sometimes, I will cut the stems and bring them inside and put them in a cup of water and they'll last a week indoors. That way I don't have to keep going outside for them.

One problem I have is finding the right basil for the Italian foods I prefer to cook, and I just can't find the right one that's sweet enough yet.
