  Install outdoor faucet
Posted by: ZandraJoi - 04-10-2023, 04:44 AM - Forum: sprinkler - Replies (1)

I figure this may be in the Sprinkler section as you can't help sprinklers or irrigation without access to water.
Has anybody installed a faucet outside? How hard or easy was it for you to do?

I know Japanese beetles are quite popular & invasive. There are some chemical as well as natural means to help control them. Do you have this problem? What have you done to manage this situation? How successful were you?

  Garden vs Potting soil
Posted by: ZandraJoi - 04-10-2023, 04:32 AM - Forum: Soil - Replies (1)

https://www.familyhandyman.com/article/garden-soil-vs-potting-soil

Do you know the difference between the two? Plus there are other kinds of "soil" & "dirt" out there as well so it can get quite confusing. Which ones do you use?

  Deer resistant plants

https://www.birdsandblooms.com/gardening...ant-plants

What have you planted that the deer didn’t devour? I had read that in a time of plenty, the deer will stay away from a lot of plants. However, when food is scarce, even the deer-resistant plants may not hold them back.

  Voles

Do you have an issue with voles? How do you remove them? Do you use organic products? Or have you had to resort to chemicals? Was it successful? We don’t have voles too much around here; more moles than anything.

  Rain chains

https://www.birdsandblooms.com/backyard-...ing-spoons

This is a great way to reuse spoons. Many of us have extras & if not, they are quite cheap at Resale stores. What interests me the most is that you don’t need electricity to run a pump. You literally harness the power of rain.

  Test soil pH

https://www.familyhandyman.com/article/h...st-soil-ph

Have you tested your soil before? Did you send it out to a place? Did you do a DIY version? Did you find the results were adequate & spot on? What did you have to change for your soil? I remember us sending out for a soil sample & we needed more potassium I believe in the soil.

  Basil

https://www.birdsandblooms.com/gardening...basil-ever

Who likes to grow basil? What do you use it for? We’ve bought some organic basil we’ve grown, however, we used too much of it for cooking so the plant wilted.
