Anybody have to deal with crabgrass? I know it’s common here in the USA. Other countries may have another grass that’s equally invasive & hard to get rid of. Share ideas you have of removing it Smile

Do you have indoor fruits? Or even veggies? What types work best for you? What do you use the produce for?
I haven't had one yet but I'd like to try out the lemon.

What do you think of Rock Gardens? Do you yourself have one? Would you consider this as a choice? I wouldn’t want all of our acreage as a rock garden but a small patch would be very nice to look at.

Do you like to harvest seeds? What types of plants do you find are easiest?
The flowers I like to grow are also ones I can get seeds out of easily. Cosmos, moonflowers, zinnia, marigold.

Do you have a shaded area? What do you like to plant?
Even though it says Hosta does well, mine do best when they are in full sun.

  Air plants
Posted by: ZandraJoi - 03-13-2023, 07:18 AM - Forum: Gardening - No Replies

Plants can help the air quality. When the air is better, we breathe better. Which in turn helps reduce stress & anxiety. There's also something to be said about taking care of another living thing. A plant needs to be watered, fertilized, even talking to it can help the plant grow & help you in the process.
What types of Air Plants do you like to have?

What’s your favorite color of flower?
Posted by: ZandraJoi - 03-06-2023, 07:52 AM - Forum: landscape - Replies (1)

& do you tend to plant it the most? I like purple & pink tones. They, along with red flowers, tend to attract beneficial insects & hummingbirds very well.

  Rain barrels
Posted by: ZandraJoi - 03-06-2023, 07:44 AM - Forum: Gardening - No Replies

Who likes to use rain barrels? Is it illegal in your area? Some places it is. Fortunately it’s not here. How many do you have? We have 5 & I use them for established plants. For seedlings, I use the soaker hose until they get a bit bigger; don’t want to wash them away.
What do you use your rain barrel water for?

What is the best vegetable you like to grow?
Posted by: ZandraJoi - 03-06-2023, 07:41 AM - Forum: Gardening - No Replies

Is it something you like the taste of? Or perhaps it’s just easy to grow.
I like having it both ways. Something I like to eat but also is quite easy in growing. Vegetables such as lettuce, tomatoes, potatoes top my list.

What is the best tree you like to grow?
Posted by: ZandraJoi - 03-06-2023, 07:36 AM - Forum: Gardening - No Replies

Are there any particular trees you have in your area that seem to grow better than others? Do you have a favorite? If so, what is it?
We have a lot of Sassafras trees here. I haven’t figured out how to transplant them really well but I love their unique shaped leaves & how hardy they are. They also tend to grow quite fast.
